Rolling Meadows is proud to offer quality programs for Juniors interested in learning more about the game of golf. Whether the Junior Golfer is new to the game or an accomplished player, we have a program to fit their needs. The following is a short description of each opportunity. Please contact Head Golf Professional Jeremiah Hoffmann, PGA with more questions. Our Junior golf programs are named to coincide with the progression of professional golf. Beginners will start on the "Mini Tours" and work their way up to the PGA Tour. Each level is designed for skill level, not age. Players of all ages can participate in any of the programs, provided it matches their skill level.
It is also our strong belief that parent involvement in our programs is vital. We want to partner with you, the parent, to help your child enjoy the game of golf more. In each of the programs, we strongly encourage parental involvement in the on course portion. Please contact Head Golf Professional, Jeremiah Hoffmann, PGA for more information.
PGA Junior Tees
Beginning in the 2014 golf season, Rolling Meadows GC offers two sets of Junior tees, which meet the requirements of the PGA Family Course guidelines. Our philosophy is that the golf course needs to be "scaled" to fit the juniors' ability level. Only then will they have success and be hooked on the great game of golf! The two sets of Junior tees are designed to be a stepping stone to the red, silver and white tees in the future. Please follow this link to see the formula created by US Kids and PGA Family Course to see how we have set up our golf course. We also have a designated Junior Scorecard and all tees will have a rating and slope from the WSGA.
Please watch this short video on scaling put out by the United States Tennis Association. Even though the video is promoting tennis, the concepts are the same for golf.
Our Junior Golf Program is led by PGA Member Jeremiah Hoffmann. Jeremiah has been in charge of Junior Golf at Rolling Meadows since 2004. Jeremiah is a Certified PGA Member in the area of Golf Course Operations and is currently working toward becoming Certified in Player Development. He is recognized by US Kids as a Certified Instructor, a Level 1 Coach in The First Tee, is a Golf coach at the University of Wisconsin - Fond du Lac and is involved with Wisconsin PGA's "Golf in Schools." Part of becoming a US Kids Certified Instructor means that Jeremiah is also recognized as a "Double-Goal Coach" through the Positive Coaching Alliance. Jeremiah and Rolling Meadows GC are committed to the growth of the game of golf through Juniors. For more information on Jeremiah's Golf Instruction, please follow the link.
Assisting Jeremiah in the instruction during these programs will be PGA Professional Don DuChateau and other Rolling Meadows GC staff and area high school coaches. Rolling Meadows GC staff includes collegiate players and very accomplished amateur players.

PGA Junior League Golf
One of the new options that I am most excited about is the PGA Junior League Golf. PGA JR League Golf is Little League for golf. It introduces the team aspects and excitement to the game of golf. We are VERY excited to be fielding a team comprised of boys and girls between the ages of 8-13. Our team will compete in matches against other golf course in the Fox Valley area. The kids will be put on two person teams and compete and in 3 Hole matches. In addition to looking for kids to compete, we will also need parent volunteers to help us transport kids to and from the matches. The 2018 team will be formed in early spring and matches will begin in late May or early June. You can find out more general information about PGA Junior League golf by visiting their website: www.pgajlg.com
Follow the link above for our Rolling Meadows GC PGA JR League Home Page.
Cost for the 2018 RMGC PGA JR League Team is $230 per kid and includes: 3 – 5 matches, 5 team matches, 5 individual practice sessions, a team jersey and an end of the year party.
